Forest Reading Hall, with a usable area of approximately 21,800 square meters, is recognized as the world's largest library hall, certified by Guinness World Records.
This area offers readers access to both Chinese and foreign language books. Readers can ascend Chunchu Path, Xiamo Path, Qiuhao Path and Dongshi Path while enjoying reading. The four paths are for Culture and Tourism Books Borrowing and Reading, Law Books Borrowing and Reading, Natural Science Books Borrowing and Reading and Refrence Books Reading, respectively.
The third floor provides an area for Social Science Books Borrowing and Reading, Newspaper & Periodicals Borrowing and Reading, Foreign Language Books Borrowing and Reading, as well as book sections named the “City of Readers” and “Lifelong Reading’’. The western platform literary book section and the eastern platform foreign language book section encompass award-winning books. The Chinese award-winning book section includes works that won the four major contemporary literature awards in China, Lu Xun Literature Prize, Lao She Literature Award, Mao Dun Literature Prize and Cao Yu Drama Literature Award. The foreign award-winning book section features books that won internationally renowned awards, such as the Nobel Prize in Literature and the International Booker Prize.
